Bloober Team Confirms Silent Hill Remake in Full Production

Silent Hill 2 Developer Confirms Silent Hill 1 Remake Progress

Bloober Team, the studio behind the successful Silent Hill 2 remake, has officially confirmed that their remake of the original Silent Hill has entered full production. The announcement came during the company’s latest investor call, where CEO Piotr Babieno and Vice President Karolina Nowak provided updates on the studio’s current projects.

According to the investor call transcript, Bloober Team has organized its development resources into two first-party production teams. “One of which is working on Silent Hill 1, and the other has begun work on a second project,” the executives confirmed. While the studio hasn’t officially confirmed which team is handling which project, it’s likely that the same developers responsible for the well-received 2024 Silent Hill 2 remake are now working on the original game’s remake.

Recent Successes and New Projects

The Polish developer has been maintaining a busy schedule following the commercial and critical success of their Silent Hill 2 remake, which launched approximately one year ago. More recently, the studio launched Cronos: The New Dawn, an original horror IP that has already achieved significant sales milestones.

“After the launch weekend, we reported sales of the game at 200,000 units,” Babieno and Nowak confirmed during the investor call. The game is available across multiple platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

However, despite the strong performance of Cronos: The New Dawn, the studio clarified that they’re not currently developing downloadable content or a sequel for the title. “At the moment, apart from marketing updates, the company is not actively working on development (neither a sequel nor DLC), but we do not rule it out in the future, and we are definitely thinking about developing this IP,” the company stated.

Expanding Development Operations

Bloober Team’s expansion continues with the recent establishment of their new publishing label, Broken Mirror Games. The label is preparing to release its first project, I Hate This Place, described as a craft-based, isometric survival horror game scheduled for release on November 7. The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The confirmation of the Silent Hill remake’s production status follows earlier reporting from our colleagues at imdcontrols.com, who initially broke the news about Bloober Team’s development plans. This latest update provides concrete evidence that the highly anticipated remake is moving forward as planned, giving horror gaming enthusiasts plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
