The Enterprise GenAI Conundrum
Large enterprises investing substantial resources in generative artificial intelligence are facing mounting frustration, according to industry analysis. A landmark MIT report indicates that approximately 95% of GenAI pilot schemes fail to demonstrate measurable value, raising questions about whether the technology can deliver on its promises for business applications.

Breaking the Integration Barrier
UnifyApps, a New York-based startup, is positioning itself as a solution to this enterprise AI dilemma. The company announced today it has completed a $50 million Series B funding round led by WestBridge Capital with participation from ICONIQ and other investors. This brings the company’s total funding to more than $80 million in under 18 months, sources indicate.
“For all the success of GenAI in the consumer sector, very few enterprises have been able to make it work for them,” according to Ragy Thomas, who has joined UnifyApps as chairman and co-CEO as part of the funding round. “That’s because GenAI needs access to the enterprise’s data to deliver on its promise – and it isn’t currently getting that access.”
A Horizontal Approach to AI Integration
Analysts suggest the fundamental problem lies in how enterprises are implementing AI solutions. Companies typically invest in GenAI tools for specific functions or processes, but these vertical solutions cannot access data from other parts of the organization. UnifyApps proposes a horizontal platform that connects disparate systems, extracts required data, performs quality checks, and delivers information back to the tools that need it.
“What we’ve built is an enterprise operating system for AI,” says co-CEO Pavitar Singh. “It’s a horizontal platform, rather than yet another vertical tool with AI embedded within it.”, according to industry news
Rapid Growth and Market Validation
Founded in 2023, UnifyApps has reportedly secured several blue-chip clients in a remarkably short timeframe. Current customers include Lowe’s, HDFC Bank, Deutsche Telekom, Belcorp, and the governments of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The company‘s revenues are projected to grow between 600% and 900% this year, according to internal estimates.
The workforce has expanded from 100 to 400 employees over the past 12 months, with plans to reach 500 by year-end. “The name of the game is speed,” Thomas adds. “Demand currently exceeds supply, so we need to put the people and new features in place quickly to meet that demand.”, according to technology trends
Competitive Landscape and Investor Confidence
Despite UnifyApps’ rapid ascent, the market remains competitive. Other players in the integration space include Workato, Zapier, Airtable, Pipefy, and Newgen, with Palantir Technologies also representing a significant competitor in the enterprise AI space.
Investors remain confident in UnifyApps’ approach. “While most organizations are still stuck in experimentation, UnifyApps helps them scale real AI across workflows – securely, with strong governance, and with measurable ROI,” says WestBridge partner Rishit Desai. “We believe this is the infrastructure layer for the next generation of enterprise software.”, according to technology trends
The AI-Native Enterprise Future
Thomas, previously known as the founder of customer experience platform Sprinklr, draws parallels between current AI developments and the internet’s transformative impact. “The next decade will belong to AI-native enterprises,” he argues. “We are seeing the same inflection point we saw with the rise of the internet – every piece of software, workflow and process will be reinvented with AI at the core.”
As enterprises continue to grapple with generative AI implementation challenges, the success of integration platforms like UnifyApps may determine whether companies can finally translate their substantial AI investments into tangible business value.
